Let’s Start Making our 2021 Calendar!
To start with your 2021 Calendar in Coreldraw
First: Gather up the ideas for your design: It is very ideal to collect first all the needed photos for your layout as this will save you time when you have compiled everything and can be grabbed easily.
Second: Open CorelDraw: Once you save all the needed files we will then start creating the layout for your calendar. We have divided this tutorial into two parts so we can easily guide you through until we have our finished product.
Part 1
- First, click Window> Dockers> Script, This will show a docker on the right for scripts.
In the Script docker, Open Visual Basic for Applications> Calendar Wizard> Wizard, Then Double click CreateCalendar.
- Then beside Macros.you will see a drop down menu, select CalendarWizard and left click on Run. The calendar wizard will be displayed after.
- In the calendar wizard box, you will see Calendar Date on the top part, simply choose the year from the list box, then click all to add all the months of the year.
- Proceed next to Calendar Language, from the Language box: you can select and modify your desired language. To add special occasions and holidays, click on Holidays then specify the date, month, and a title for that occasion on the Holidays Specified box.
- How to add holidays: In the Calendar Language section, there is a button Add Holidays. Add all your holidays you want to include, even birthdays and any other known dates.
- Layout box, from here you can choose your layout. You can pick different types for your calendar.
- Of course you need to preview your calendar and for that you will need to click on Expand to have a bigger view of it.
- Now adjust your preferred text size if you like to have a new page dimension as the calendar wizard provides an active project by default. For customization, just make sure that the check box is empty beside Create Calendar in Current Document, then specify the orientation, dimension, and margins. To adjust the text font just hit on Adjust Fonts.
- Almost done for part1: In the calendar wizard go to Large Header Tab, and under the font press the back: White box. Then change this colour to a color we can find later. This can be any colour as we just need to find it to add our custom images.
- When you’re done with all these steps provided, from the CalendarWizard, click on Generate. You can now add images on your calendar to make it pop by using CorelDraw.
Second Part: Customize the design and appearance of your calendar.
Basically this part is where you can personalize and add some design to your calendar. For example change the background, add or remove the borders, change the aspect of holiday text, and so on.
- We now go to Objects Docker, look for the rectangle that has the different colour (Arrow 1), copy (ctrl C), Paste it (ctrl V) then add the image you would like resizing to fit how you like inside the rectangle.
Arrow 1: Look for the rectangle that has the different colour
Arrow 2: Power clip and move to above coloured rectangle.
Then for Arrow 3: The text above the rectangle you copied
- In the Object Docker move the rectangle above the image, then select the image.
- Press in the top Menu Bar, Object> Powerclip, Place Inside frame. then click on the rectangle to place it inside.
- Now move the power clipped rectangle down to just above the original rectangle you copied in the Object docker (Arrow 2).
- Add any other edits or modifications like find the text above the rectangle (Arrow 3) you copied and change the colour size or location to suit the image you added. If needed you can press the eye next to the coloured rectangle to hide it from printing.
- Add shadows or any other effect and done. You can move to the next tab and do this for each month or calendar you made.
Final step: Ready to Print: Prep now your photo printer and paper as we are ready to print then, bind every page, and there you go, you now have a beautiful and professionally made calendar that can be given as a gift, thrown up onto the fridge or hung in the Home office. And that is how you make the 2021 Calendar in Coreldraw
